NEW YORK – April 4, 2016 – Engine Group has officially launched ‘co/star,’ a content-first influencer marketing solution in partnership with entrepreneur and investor Kevin Jonas. Originating out of the network’s digitally-led creative agency, Deep Focus, co/star not only matches brands with influencers and celebrities but also collaborates with them to develop high-quality branded content.

co/star will be led by Ambassador Exchange co-founder and industry veteran Sean Finnegan as its Managing Director. Finnegan will report to Ian Schafer, Founder & Chairman of Deep Focus. Jonas assumes the role of Managing Partner.

“For the last three years, Sean and I have worked with some of the world’s best brands and social media content creators to make and distribute content that engages audiences,” said Jonas. “We are excited to join forces with Deep Focus and Engine Group to launch co/star and deliver great branded content created by influential creators and distributed on the platforms audiences use every day.”

A turnkey offering, co/star is a collaborative solution that facilitates and enables the creation, distribution and measurement of the highest quality branded content developed in collaboration with social media influential creators across Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, Twitter, Vine, Periscope, Pinterest and Tumblr. co/star prioritizes real engagement with high-quality branded content allowing for maximum distribution and real results.
The company is already working closely with Deep Focus client eBay on influencer and creator marketing initiatives. Additionally, co/star will have an exclusive partnership with Marketing Evaluations, Inc. – the Q Scores Company, the industry standard for measuring consumer appeal of personalities – to provide influencers’ Q Scores by demographic to help customers determine strengths and weaknesses against target audiences as part of the selection process.

“We owe it to our clients to constantly raise the bar on the quality of branded content and this offering will serve the needs of our clients, while also retaining the ability to work directly with publishers or even other agencies. It’s important to collaborate closely with external partners to get the best output and results,” said Schafer. “We’re excited for co/star to make it easier to collaboratively create and distribute great content made by talented people with highly engaged audiences.”

The launch of co/star widens the breadth of Engine Group’s existing content offerings, including Moment Studio and Trailer Park, and comes on the heels of the launch of Deep Focus’ branded-content solution DFx in August 2015. DFx co-produces authentic, strategically-centered creative content for brands looking to make more meaningful connections with their consumers and distributes content through collaborative partnerships with leading content creators and publishers.
